I’m sitting here feeling a bit peckish and beginning to work out what I’m going to eat for dinner. My fingers explore the online world to see if there’s anything I fancy, as my tastebuds begin to tingle and my stomach churns. Coming across the food truck of the future is reminding me of what I’ve been able to do in the past as a holder of a UK driving licence.
Learning to drive has given me freedom to experience, challenge myself and do different things. From driving winding roads of Italy, to exploring the coastline of mainland Spain. It’s also enabled me to own a street food business and travel to events and festivals across the south and east of england.
There are some beautiful old vehicles to convert and drive. From this camper van from Pollys Parlour:
to this caravan – towed into place.
With a little time and a lot of thought – a person can come up with a street food business idea to start for under £5000.
That’s what I did.
But if I hadn’t had my driving licence, I wouldn’t have been able to taste chilli coke or enjoy an artisan burger or chat with and meet so many different people along the way.
This american urban lobster shack looks a bit cool – don’t you think?
Now, I know I’ve digressed a little, so here I am coming back to the show stopper I was talking about at the start of this post. It’s been dreamt up and designed by the Peugeot design lab.
Behold the Food Truck of the future:
Peugeot says:
To ensure the Peugeot Foodtruck Concept was completely functional and in compliance with all standards and food hygiene regulations, Peugeot Design Lab turned to Euromag, the French food truck specialist.
The professional-grade preparation and cooking appliances are all designed to be multi-functional, in order to adapt to the inspiration and talents of any chef and type of cuisine, from fine dining to fusion and molecular gastronomy.
So it’ll be ready and waiting for you to drive it off the forecourt!
Does any of this tickle your tastebuds. What do you want to do when you learn to drive?
