The test routes associated with either test centre hold their own challenges. When taking a test in Basildon, you will most likely encounter the A13 (London Rd) as well as several large free-flowing roundabouts. Meanwhile, in Southend, there are several busy dual carriageways such as the A127 and other bustling roads such as Hamstel Rd or Eastern Avenue (A1159). It is also likely that you will encounter some smaller country lanes like those found on or around Shopland Road but don’t panic, your instructor will ensure that you are fully confident before taking you for a test! With the driving instructor’s knowledge of Rayleigh, you will be assured of a good knowledge of all the local driving test routes.
